21 Days - Day 12

Day 12:

There is power in a declaration. The words that come out of our mouths (all of them) carry weight. Words are an asset to be leveraged, not wasted. Words reflect the status of our hearts, which in turn is a reflection of our conviction. What words are coming out of your mouth today related to your relationships? What words are coming out of your mouth today related to your profession, your workplace, your health, your finances?
You and I will spend our lives toiling, working, building, teaching, creating ... it is the work of our hands. Today, let us declare God's favor over that work in Jesus’ name. BUT let's also surrender that work to the Lord and follow His prompting accordingly.
The scripture says, "May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us." This is a declaration of favor specifically in reference to our work, which we see this in the next part of the verse: "establish the work of our hands for us." Today we declare favor specifically over our work and we ask God to bless the work of our hands. More than that, we surrender our roles to him and ask that he lead us ... "yes, establish the work of our hands."
For the educator that means we are asking God to help us make a difference in the lives of our students. For the contractor that means we are building with excellence to the highest standard and at a fair price to our customers. To the retiree that might mean we are on mission to make a difference by focusing our full attention on discipling and leading people to Jesus.
Today we simultaneously declare favor and surrender the work of our hands to the Lord. And if you are not satisfied with your role, cry out to God. Declare his favor and ask him to establish the work of your hands.

Declare Today - "The favor of the Lord rests upon me, and he establishes the work of my hands."

Psalms 90:17 NIV
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands.

Proverbs 16:9 NIV
Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank.

Colossians 3:23 NIV
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters…
